The impairment or distortion of voluntary movement, resulting in fragmented movements and spasms. Dyskinesias can occur in people with Parkinson's disease who have received long-term treatment with levodopa. This side effect of levodopa treatment can become as debilitating for the sufferer as the disease itself.
